A pea rifle which j was being shown to the child by a girl accidentally exploded, the bullet striking him on the head, and passing through the scalp. The local doctor Icing absent, Dr. Forbes, of Mangonui, attended the sufferer, who was still unconscious at 9 a.m. to-day.
