MEETINGS.

MEETING OF ORANGEMEN. The' annual meeting' of Auckland Orangemen was held on Friday, Brother J. Green, Grand Master, being in the chair. The financial statement for the. year stated that the trustees had acquired 'two other properties in the course of the year for over £1100, and a good income was being received there-' from. Thoy had also in view the purchase ' of another property, which they believed would also add to their funds. . Votes of thanks wore accorded the officers of the institution for the manner in which they had managed the funds during the year. At a meeting of the- District Lodge, held subsequently, arrangements were made for-the carrying out of the anniversary services; ONEfIUNGA CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH. A well-attended meeting of pi embers of the Congregational Church, Onebunga, was j held on Friday evening, when it was decided ! to form a literary and social club, the follow- j ing officers being elected:—President, Mr. J. Laking; vice-presidents,' Messrs. H. J. Blackwood, M. Jones, H. Smith, and J. I Williams; secretary, Mr. L. Jones; trea-| surer, Mr. P. Watts; editress of magazine, Mrs. M. Jones. • ASSISTANT-MASTERS' ASSOCIATION. A meeting of the Auckland Masters' Association was held .in the Foresters' Hall, Edinburgh-street, on Saturday evening. A paper on " Reading"' was read, the subject being divided among Messrs. F. Brown, H. K. Burns, 8.A., W. J. Gatenby, 8.A., and T. Jones. The discussion that followed i was productive of. some practical suggestions > for the schoolroom. ' The subject selected for next meeting was " Devices for Teaching." Musical items were contributed by Messrs. Murdock,. Earl, Warren, liaro, Gatenby, .and' Wilson,. and a reading ' by Mr. Mclinics.
