FATAL BURNING ACCIDENT.

A child, five months old, named Charlotte Reiilev, was so severely burned on Saturday evening at the residence of her parents, Newton, that she died from her injuries at. the hospital, whither she bad been taken, at four o'clock yesterday afternoon. It is stated that the parents retired tc bed, placing the little girl on a bed on two chairs alongside their own. According to their usual custom, a lamp was le.'t burning in the room, which by some means set light, to the child's bed. The parentis wot aroused by the child's screams at four o'clock on Sunday morning, and immediately did all in their power to alleviate the little sufferer's pains. Dr. Keith was called in, and ordered the child's removal to the hospital. It is suggested that- tins cause of the accident was the bursting of the lamp. An inquest will be held at the hospital at- 9.30 this morning.
