[by teleceaph.-- association.] DtrNKDiN", Friday. The Dunedin Competitions Society has appointed judges for the forthcoming festival of instrumental and concerted vocal music: —Elocution, Mr. F. 1.. Peck, "Wanganui; solo singing, Mr. C. N. Baeyertz; essay, Mr. W. J. Mo.-rell; Scripture essay, Dr. Nisbet; original poem, Dr. Waddell; story without words, Mr. J. P. B'ackman. Blenheim. Friday. A memorial chancel and organ were opened in the Church of the Nativity last evening, Mr. Robert Parker giving a recital on the instrument, which was built by Mr. Hobday of Wellington. The chancel is in memory of the late "Parson" Butt, the first archdeacon in Marlborough, and the organ was donated as a memorial of the late Thomas Carter, at one time superintendent of the province, by the widow of the deceased.
