TRAFFIC IN THE HARBOUR.

Sir,— Harbour Board would do well to divert an much of the traffic as possible from the busy part of the harbour, to try to pre-, vent all it can such collisions as occured on March' 10. The wharf at O'Neill's Point will divert a very large amount of traffic from that part of the harbour, for it will not only be the present and future population from the wharf to the Lake that will utilise that wharf, but all the farmers for a long way past the Lake. Also, it would be a sheltered and safe wharf when such gales occur like the one on March 8. * L.C.R.
