■* NO SETTLEMENT YET. THE UNIONS OBDURATE. : By Telegraph.—l'ress Association.—Copyright. (Received April 11, 1.25 a.m.) Sydney, April 10. The chief point at issue when the conference in regard' to the wharf labourers' strike adjourned on Wednesday was whether members of the Institute of Marine Engineers should return to work, while allowing engineers engaged on coastal boats during the strike to complete their terms of agreement with the companies, some of which were stated to run to 12 months. A ballot of the institute was taken today, and it was decided to allow the engineers to complete their agreements. Subsequently a meeting of representatives of the coastal companies accepted the provisional agreement. A meeting of unions affected ie now in progress. ! The latest report is that they had reI fused certain proposals in the agreement, ! and that the strike remained unsettled. I ■■■■' ■■■' ■■ INDUSTRIAL DISPUTES BILL.
