The Taranaki Jockey Club's Autumn Meeting was opened to-day in dull, showery weather. The totalisator investments amounted to £5733, against £5825 10s last year. Price) 1 Pe-arlie ... ;; The .Dane ... 5 Also started: Lantern, Kilmarnock, Mistress. The first and second horses left the field and Mallet won by lialf-a-length. Time, lm. 465. FLYiNG HANDICAP. A meeting of the Metropolitan Committee of the Auckland Racing Club was held last evening, the Hon. E. Mitehelson (chairman) presiding. The disqualification on Arthur Langdon for riding at unregistered meetings at Hikutaia and Matakohe last season was removed and a license granted to him for lbs present season. The six pony races on the Auckland Trotting Club's autumn programme were approved. In connection with the Whangarei meeting the report of the sub-committee, embodying statements from horseowners and others, was laid" before the meeting, and as an, outcome the jockeys' licenses of B. Deeley and J. Conquest were cancelled, and it was decided to send all the papers on to the Racing Conference. The Auckland Trotting Club's report, with, the sub-committee's report attached, bearing on the disqualifications recently imposed in connection with the Grandstand Handicap tun at the summer meeting at Alexandra Park, was discussed, but as the time within which notice of appeal might be given had not elapsed, definite action was deferred. AIATA3LATA RACES. The annual meeting of the Matamata Racing Club was held on Tuesday, and was most successful. There was a good attendance and the racing was very, interesting. The following are the results:• HURDLE RACE, one mile and R-ha'.f.—Hill-flower 1, Anna Lombard 2, Harkaway 3. These were the only starters. Hillflower went a; once to the front and won easily. MAIDEN PLATE, eix furlongs.—Freevata 1. Liberty 2, Note 3. Also started: Puranui. Miss Stella, Maid of the Forest, Snapshot, Freemaid, Leonine, Penquillan. From a good start Libert} was first away and led for about three furlongs, when Freevata took command and won easily bytwo lengths. MATAMATA HANDICAP, one mile.— 1, Leonette 2, Silvermere 3. These were the only starters, and Tui won all the way. MAIDEN WELTER, six furlongs.—Aletta 1, Memo 2, Liberty 3. Also started: Puranui, Harkaway, Freemaid, Penquillan. Aletta got the best of the start end was never headed. FLYING HANDICAP, six furlongs.—Tui 1, Wal-. hekau 2, Leonette 3. Waihekau, who was first away, led for about, half the distance, when Tui took command, and, stalling off all opposition, won easily. TOWER RACE", ono mile.—Aletta 1, Freevata 2, Puranui 3. Aletta won all the way. HANDICAP TROT, two miles.— 1, Beady Bed. 2, Violet 3. Trilby won easily.
FORCED HANDICAP, lour furlongs.—Waihekau 1, Hillflower 2, Memo 3. This was a good race, which Waihekati won by half-a-length.
