DRUCE AFTERMATH.

PERJURY PROSECUTIONS.

MRS. HAMILTON'S CASE. By Telegraph.—Press Association.— (Received March 26, 12.14 a.m.) London, March 25. Mrs. Hamilton, one of the sensational witnesses in the Druce case, whose evidence has resulted in a perjury prosecution, appeared in the Bow-stt'bet Police Court yesterday, and was further remanded. Sir Charles Mathews, who appeared for the prosecution, mentioned that it had been discovered lb at Mr. G. H. Druce in December, 1906, drew cheques for £600, of which £400 had been paid to Mrs. Hamilton's banking account, although she had sworn that she was not promised anything to give evidence. Describing this witness, whose evidence Wilis picturesque in the extreme, the Daily News had the following:—"Mrs. Hamilton, in .spite of her 77 years and frail appearance, has plenty of spirit, and she threw society, the law, and the press into shrieks of laughter as she rambled oft volubly with the irrelevant and inadmissible details which she felt to bo necessary to her position ip the witness-box. She brimmed over with queer information, and it needed all the tact of Mr. Goodman, who conducted her cxamination-in-chief, to keep her within bounds. She drew herself up briskly in her plain gray coat, and set the trimmings of her saucy black bonnet dancing in preparation for Mr. Avory's close but kindly cross-examina-tion ; and when she got the opportunity elio gave the Court the benefit of her opinions with considerable freedom.''
