TEE GOVERNOR.

The Governor, Lord Plunket, performed the ceremony of laying the foundationstone of the Grafton lerro-concrete bridge yesterday afternoon, and delivered an interesting speech at the function. To-day His Excellency, accompanied by Lady Plunket, will visit St. Stephen's School for Native Boys and the Queen Victoria, School for Maori Girls. With the object of raising funds for the Society for the Protection of Infant Life, two amateur theatrical performances will be given at Government House on April 28 and 29. The pieces to be staged are "In Honour Bound" and "Old Gooseberry."
