ESTIMATE OF THE COST. --•> '.if; [BY TELKOKAI'H. —OWN* CORRESPONDENT.] Gisuornk, Saturday. While in Wellington Mr. W. D. Lysnar interviewed the authorities in order to ascertain what was being done with regard to the request from Gisborne for the opening up of the stock' track to the Waikato, via Waikaremoana. He found that the £700 vote had been authorised and partly spent, and that the officer in charge of the roads in that district had been requested to push on with the work. I3av to make the road from Hangaroa to Ariiwaniwa, where the road first strikes the shores of lie lake, including, felling, clearing, and widening for a dray road, and six. small bridges, would cost £13,540, or to clear and open only for stock traffic £2640. The Hon. J. Carroll lias undertaken to make special efforts to get the 14-mile gap completed.
