AQUATICS.

A uiotiol sailing club has been started, named the Judge's Bay .Sailing Club. The. first race will take place this afternoon, when seven boats will compete. The Auckland Rowing Club will hold its annua! picnic at Takapuna Reach on -March 28, when there- will be trial fours and pairoar races. A steamer for the convenience of friends will leave the Ferry Tee at 1.30 p.m. The Deepsinkers' Fishing C'uib will leave on a fishing excursion by the s.s. Apamu, this afternoon, returning to-morrow evenillß', . . The- sale is reported of the yacht Freda (lately owned by Mr. (». G. Norris) to Messrs. Bond and Fratikham. Her moorings have been shifted to the west end of Devonport. Sim was out on Saturday last in charge of her now owners, who. were very pleased with' her. She still flies the Devonport Yacht Club burgee. The well-known 20ft mullet boat Eileen has changed hands, her new owner being Mr. Gedye, of Parncll.

Ariki returned from her Northern cruise on Sunday. The crew of the well-known yacht Spray (Captain Gibbs) had a private picnic on Wednesday, and judging by the beaming faces of the crew they must have enjoyed themselves. I was pleased to see Captain Gibhs looking so well, and trust that lie will be long spared to sail the Spray as in (he past. Yachtsmen will- be interested to hear that a regatta will be held at Awaroa Bay. Waiheke, on Easter Monday.
