New York, March 4. The anarchist assailant of Mr. Shippy (chief of police of Chicago), who was finally shot dead after a terrible encounter in which Mr. Shippy and his son and coachman were all wounded, has been identified as a Russian named Averluck, who is a native of Kishnieff.

A hundred suspects have been arrested in connection with an alleged murderous organisation.
