Pekin, June 3. An office of the Chinese Maritime Customs is to be established .at Dalny on July 1. It is to.be worked on lines similar to that at the German port of Kiao-chau. |

Tho opening of the office at Dalny is intended doubtless to remove the complaint made from time to time that Japanese goods were entering Manchuria duty free while on foreign goods the Chine*o duties are levied. Datay is now "Japanese territory, held on lease, and Japanese good* pay no duty there. The Japanese own the railway from Dalny to Chun-chum, in the north of the province.
