" Ho would rather * have seen the sanitary block carried out 3 from the centre of each ward, or from the i southern rather than from the northern end 3 (where the aspect was naturally the sunniest ; and most cheerful), but he supposed there 3 were architectural difficulties in the way. , Ho also thought it a pity, in the event of it * being considered necessary, to place the ' sanitary towers at the northern aspect, that s they should he cross-ventilated on to the 1 balconies. Ho knew that this practice was i being carried out at Home,, but the bal- , conies on the hospitals there wore not used f to such an extent as was the case with Now 3 Zealand hospitals, and, although the objec- „ tion was a minor one, he hoped the altera- , tion would be made. With the above exception, he had nothing but praise to say 3 of the plans and details submitted. It was r resolved to obtain a report on the subject from the architect, the Chairman remarking i that there were difficulties to be considered f in adding to an existing structure. ..."■ r Hospital Report: The : fortnightly , hosl pital report stated that the , ordinary patients treated numbered "121 males and 55 ' females.
