Ox the 31sfc ult. the milk suppliers of the surrounding district gave a public social to celebrate the successful season experienced. This gathering was the farmers' first effort in this district, and proved a great success. The hall was tastefully decorated, and the stage presented a cosy, appearance with its oil-heaters, carpet, rugs, and card tables. The attendance was unusually large. The social took the usual, form of dances interspersed with songs and other items, those contributing being Mrs. Bogue, Messrs. Robson, Kay,'arid A. H. Waring, and Masters Fred Cox and Briggs, the last-named giving an exhibition of club-swinging. After supper Mr. Littlewood, on behalf of the suppliers, thanked those present for their attendance, ■ and intimated that the farmers intended to make the gathering an annual one. Mr. Waring, on behalf of those entertained, congratulated the promoters on the I success of the social. ~ The music was sup- ! plied by Miss Moffitt, of Ngaruawahia, assisted by Mr. Percy Hill (violin) and Mr. Lyn. Welch (piano). ' .
