OPENING OF A RAILWAY SECTION.

• • Wellington, Saturday. The section of the Taihape-Mataroa railway was formally opened by Mr. Remington, member for Rangitikei, this afternoon. Several congratulatory speeches were made. v.
;: A telegram was read from Mr. McNab, Acting-Minister for Railways, regretting his absence at the official opening, and also that of the Acting-Premier. ■-
A large number of visitors were present.
