A rather novel and unusual method of j ; migration occurred at the Okura, South jWestland, a few weeks ago. Mr. H. H.' Cuttance, a very old settler, having purchased a farm in the Lake Wanaka district, decided to remove to his new home via the \ IJaast Pass. He therefore packed all his household goods on a number of horses, each of the family which there is a goodiy numberbeing provided with asteed. All the live stock of the farm, consisting of a. number of milch cows and other stock, were driven on in front of the cavalcade. The journey occupied about three weeks, and was accomplished without mishap, the whole party arriving safely at their ■destination at Lake Wanaka.
