TRADES AND LABOUR COUNCIL.
The Trades and Labour Council met last evening, Mr. J. Aggers presiding.
Waterside Workers: Messrs. Pcarce, Soarcs, F. Stanley, Collett, Hillier, and Brittain, nominated by the Waterside Workers' Union as delegates to the Council, wero cordially welcomed;
Political Expenses: Mr. W. Drylands wrote requesting £1 10s to be voted for incidental expenses in connection with, the Municipal Election Committee. The amount was; donated.
Need .for a Morgue: Mr. D'Authreau drew attention to the need for a morgue' at Devonport. Ho said that the body of a man found drowned at Devonport recently had to bo towed to Auckland in a dingey because- no mortuary building -existed on the North. Shore. It was resolved to again draw the attention of the Health Department to the matter.
The Tramways: Mr. D'Authreau pointed out that workers requiring to catch a Kingsland par had to pay 2Jd for a 2d section if they .took the car now running in Queen- ! street. It was resolved to protest to the ! City Council. against granting permission jto the company to run this car without • I issuing transfers. Mr. Rosser said it was ; only proposed to run this car for a couplo of I weeks, but he questioned whethor any person .who demanded a 2d ticket from the i wharf end of Queon-street to Kingsland or ja. id ticket to Khyber Pass on this car j could be refused in accordance with the j terms of the deed of delegation.
