PALMERSTON NORTH PROTEST.

A meeting of delegates of both coasts, representing producers, A. and P. societies, shippers, and freezing companies, was held to-night to consider the . inconvenience cadsed by the shortage of sheep, trucks. Seeing that the fat sheep and lamb trade is.tie only harvest for many, it is essential that they be trucked to the freezing works as soon as possible.
• The Minister for Railways is to be asked ;to provide further trucks and to arrange [that there be no delay when shipping stock' at stations?. It was considered that a much better. system -could .be.'-adopted at country stations, and that 48 hours' notice should be given in the event of tracks not being ready, when ordered. ' '.-■•;.
• It was decided to ask several members of the House of Representatives to make- representations to the Government on the matter. ,
