v Wellington, Tuesday. ~ Some interest is being evinced in. the Grimsby ..trawler Norah Niven, which is now lying at the wool wharf prior to going on the slip. On her run down from Napier a, trawl was made in deep water, but without success. "Perhaps," said one of the crew, "we didn't get anything because the trial was' made at night. It might be the same in New Zealand as it is along the coast of Spain. The fish can't be got at night." The trawler is manned by 'Grimsby men, who will work the boat during the deep-water i expeditions. that are. to be madef under the ; Supervision .of. Government experts. ■■'-'.•

After being overhauled here, will leave, for the South, commencing her trawling at Stewart Island and finishing off the Mercuries, about the end of August, when her three months' charter expires. . She will zig-zag from the coast to sea, and from the edge of the banks back to the coast, trawling everywhere within a depth of 120 fathoms. Mr. Waite, curator of the Christchurch Museum, who is an expert ichthyologist, and Mr. F. L. Ayson, chief-: inspector of fisheries, will accompany the vessel for the purpose of defining the value of the fish. ,
