A LARGE TORPEDO BOAT.

By Telegraph.—Press Association.—Copyright. - Berlin, May 27. ■ The German Admiralty has ordered a torpedo boat larger than any in other navies. V

The torpedo boat mentioned in the cablegram probably is of the destroyer type. Germany already has 73 destroyers as compared with Great Britain's 93, and 49 vessels of this class and of large ; tonnage were last year added, to the building'programme. Twelve of them aro to be built each year. The tonnage of the British destroyers has increased in recent years, and in France experiments are being made with armoured destroyers. There are. being built for the British navy five ocean-going destroyers and twelve coastal destroyers, all of high speed.
