The members of the Persian National Assembly, being convinced that the Government instigated the recent disorders in Tabriz, where the irregular soldiery killed 250 villagers, sent a deputation to the Shah on the subject. The Shah promised that an inquiry should be held into the matter/but the Assembly is' not satisfied with this promise, believing that the offenders are to be shielded. ,; r During the sitting at which the report of the deputation was '.consider-' ed there was much seditions ; talk, and noisy demonstrations .were indulged in against the Shah; '; '/,,
The Tabriz affair took place in February. The report of it stated that a rebellion had taken place there and that the rebels had seized the local arsenal and closed the public offices.
