Westpokt, Tuesday, Dennehy, who is chosen" as emergency in the football team to represent: the South'" Island, is a member of a Westport club affiliated, to the Buller Rugby Union, which" has no connection with > Westland-or: the Westland Union, ; Buller County being in" the Nelson, and not in the Westland, "province. The Management Committee of the Buller Rugby Union learned, with surprise that..Dennehy had been picked merely as an emergency, and decided to voice its most emphatic protest, seeing that ho was a member of the. South Island team last year and earned special distinction for his play. The committee considered that Dennehy was showing improved form this year and utterly failed to understand the action of the selectors in relegating him to the place of emergency.
