[Although advices from Tokio state [that the Japanese do not attach car- | dinal importance. to the attacks on the restaurant-keepers, yet these [outbursts of racial antipathy have [aroused indignation there.
Baron Hayashi (Japanese Minister [for Foreign Affairs) has directed Vis-) [count Aoki (Japanese Ambassador at Washington) to demand protection for the Japanese in the United States..
