FIRE AT STRATFORD.

A CLOTHING ESTABLISHMENT

DESTROYED.

[by telegraph.—press association.] Stratford, Monday, j The Egmont Clothing Company's premises' in Broadway were totally destroyed by fire on Sunday morning. Two unoccupied shops adjoining, owned by Mr. Lambert, were considerably damaged.

The insurance on the Egmont Company's stock was £800 in the State office. The buildings belonged to the Curnow Estate.

The Clothing Company's loss is estimated at £700 over the amount of insurance." The building was insured in the Australian Alliance Company for £250, and the United Office for £50; Lambert's property adjoining was insured for £600 in the Phoenix Office, the damage being between £200 "and £300. McAlister's property, which was slightly damaged, was insured for £150 in. the Standard Office. ;
