Iv: ' ' |-' HAMILTON CLUB. ,• Tlio Hamilton Bowling Club was unfor-' tun at o in having a very stormy night for the annual meeting' held last week. The report submitted by the committee was a most encouraging one, and included several excellent suggestions for placing the club on a sounder basis financially. Hamiltonians enjoy one great boon— of playing bowls for a yearly subscription of £1 Is. The meeting' decided to make a levy 'of 5s oil all members,', so that the , scheme of entertainment of visitors may .be carried 011 as in the past-. ; The question of holding an annual tournament aroused considerable discussion. Finally, it was decided to adhere to the Christmas season, in order not to clash with other functions. During tho winter a series of card parties will be held, ! with the dual object of : (keeping members, in touch with each -other * and augmenting tho funds. The programme for next season .was arranged as follows: How den shields and Bond stars: First-year players, to start on ; November i 9; ; club championship, to start on December 1; club fours, to start' early in the season; club pairs, to start on January 1. Mr. A. T- F. Wheeler was elected president, and the Rev. N. C. W. Radoliffe arid Mr.* H. H. Howden were appointed vice-presidents. • Messrs. M. Darke! H. T. Gillies, J. W. Warren, and F. T." Wilson were elected .as a committee. . Mr. It. Parr was appointed to the : position of treasurer, and Mr. Yarnev as. green superintendent. Mr. Clias. M. iriues was reelected lion, secretary.
