AUCKLAND TECHNICAL COLLEGE.
SECOND SECTION PLANS
APPROVED,
The chairman of the Board of Education (Mr. L. J. agnail) stated at yesterday's meeting that the plans for the second section of the Auckland Technical College had been approved by the Education Department. The information was received after Mr. J. Mitchell, the Board's architect, had left on his mission to America to inquire into the matter of ferro-concrete buildings, etc., but. the information had been forwarded to him by the next mail. The telegram from the Department was as follows : —"The Department approves of the second section of the school as suited for a technical school, this approval not to be taken to mean that the Department considers the necessity for the section to be immediate, nor as committing the Government to a further grant in aid of the erection or equipment of the building." The Chairman ; That, of course, is something that will come up in the future. The telegram was formally received.
