[BY TKIjKURAI'JI. — PRESS ASSOCIATION'.] Weli/.m;to.v, Friday. Vice-Admiral Tomioka gave an "At Home" this afternoon on board the warship Hnshidate. about 50 guests being invited. The affair passed off very successfully. This evening a Ministerial reception to the officers of the visiting squadron was given at the Parliamentary Buildings which were densely packed. Various parts of the buildings were brilliantly illuminated and decorated. There was a full representation of the military staff and officers of the local forces, also several mem bers of both Houses of Parliament. The visitors were received by the Hon. Dr. Findlay and the Hon. J. McGowan. The latter, on behalf of the Government, said it was the desire of the people of Welling ton to do honour to Admiral Tomioka, as the representative of a great nation, which had fully shown its valour in the late war. The military genius displayed in that war must, he thought, have met with approval and commendation of every nation.
