LABOUR MEMBERS OF PARLIAMENT.

REMARKS AT THE TRADES UNION

CONFERENCE.

[by telegraph.—™ess association.]

Dun'EDIN, Thursday. Several members of the Legislature attended the Trades Conference this morning. The chairman expressed the hope that next session Labour members would be heard on the floor of Parliament ad*' vocating the reforms now suggested by the conference. The Hon. W. M. Bolt, M.L.C., in replying, said that better representation of the workers in Parliament seemed to be needed, as they constituted 63 per cent, of the population, and this fact and that part of the Electoral Act which gave three country electors the same voting power as four town electors required immediate revision.

.Mr. J. F. Arnold, M.H.R., assured the conference that their proceedings were being watched with keen interest, not only by unionists, but also by a large body of non-unionist workers. It. would be interesting later to note the attitude towards the conference's proposals shown by Labour members, if there were any of them in Parliament. (Laughter.)
