Alter April 6 the draw will take place at two o'clock, instead or half-past two, as at. present FOOTBALL. AUCKLAND RUGBY UNION. THE REPORT AND BALANCE-SHEET. HIGHLY-SUCCESSFUL SON. The annual report- and balance-sheet of the Auckland Rugby Union, to be presented at the annual meeting of the union tins night week, discloses a highly-satisfactory state of attain-. The report states that both from a football point of view and financially the past sea-son lias been very satisfactory. Four interprovincial matches were played dining the season, the Auckland representatives being successful ; n each case. Additional interest was lent to the contests, as on tlie results depended ilie possession of the Ranfuly Shield, the Auckland representatives being the holders. Auckland defeated Canterbury by 29 points to 6, Southland by 48 to 12. Taranaki by 18 to 5, and Wellington by 11 points to 5. Messrs. 11. Kiernan. A. Francis, C. Dunning, (J. Uille.t. .1. Dufty, and C. Seeling were the Auckland players selected for the North Island team. Two matches were played against Thames, both being won by Auckland. The Waikato representatives were also met twice, Auckland winning the first match at Auckland and Waikato the return match at Hamilton. The Goldfields Union also visited Auckland and defeated the local representatives. The usual match with Northern Wairoa was played at Wairoa, the Auckland team being defeated. A junior representative team visited Waihi and defeated the goldflelds junior representatives. The senior championship cup was again won by the City team, North Shore winning the cup in the second grade, and City in the third grade. The inauguration of the fourth grade with a weight limit proved a great success, keen interest being taken by the younger players. I'arneU district won thus competition. The silver challenge football presented by Mr. Moss Davis was won by the City District Club. The secondary schools' championship was won by the Sacred Heart. College. In the public schools' competition the f'onsonby school won the A section and Newmarket, school the B section. The statement of accounts shows a profit for the season's operations of £908 16a 9d. of which sum £240 had been distributed amongst the district clubs towards their training hall funds and £200 placed on fixed deposit, which it was) proposed to transfer to the ground trust fund account, leaving a balance in hand of £672 7s Bd. The ground trust capital account now utood at £2453 4s tid. The present lease of Alexandra Park expires at the end of the present season, and the committee has been successful in negotiating with the Auckland Electric Tramways Company, Limited, for a renewal of the lease for three years from the expiry of tho present lease. The thanks of the union were duo to the Auckland Referees' Association, Mr. <;. 11. Dixon (the union's delegateto the New Zealand Rugby Union). -Mr. D. Gallaher (solo selector of the representative teams), Mr. H. C. Jones (selector of the junior representatives), Dr. llardic Neil, and Messrs. T. Macky and P. R. Fraser (lion, auditors) for their services. The statement of receipts and expenditure shows that, the union carried forward a balance of £203 lCs lid from the previous year and that the total receipts for the season were £2547 19s lid. The principal items wore: £330 16s 6d, gross proceeds from the cup and practice matches : £12 12.«. subscriptions to accident fund ; £14 19s from affiliated unions; £10 12s 6d, tender for the sale of the football guide: £24 10s 6d. proceeds Auckland v. Waikato match; £63 3s 6d, Auckland v. Goldfields; £80 18s, Auckland v. Thames; £524 18s, Auckland v. Canterbury: £438 58, Auckland v. Taranaki; £251 14s, Auckland v. Southland: and £786 10s. Auckland v. Wellington. The expenditure for the season totalled £1875 12a 3d, leaving a credit balance of £672 7s Bd. Among Hie items of expenditure was; £81 Os 7d, Tramways Company's percentage; £61 9s Id, accident fund; £80, secretary and treasurer; £33 Is 9d, footballs and jerseys; £36 6s, caps for representatives and cup winners; £280, ground fund trustees (on fixed deposit); £40 to each of the six district clubs; £24 as 4d for the match against. Waikato; £22■ 16s sd, v. Goldtields: £29 14s 3d. v. Thames; £173 3s 6d, v. Canterbury; £167 3s Id. v. Taranaki; £166 5s sd, v. Southland; and £255 12s 2d, v. Wellington. The profit on the Taranaki match was shown to be £43S ss, .on -the Canterbury match. £146 14s 6d, on the Wellington match £530 17s lOd, on the Southland match £85 &! 7d. on the Thames match £51 3s 3d, on the Goldflelds match £40 7s Id, and on the Waikato match Is 2d. The statement of assets and liabilities shows that the. assets were £3453 4s Bd, including £3424 12s 4<l. land at Three Kings (at cost), while the liabilities totalled a similar amount. The latter included £1000 aa a mortgage and £2453 4s 8d as the Auckland Rugby Union's capital account. The profit and loss account showed a credit balance of £4 16s 4d. WAIHI CITY CLUB. The annual meeting of the Waihi City Football Club was held on Tuesday evening. Mr. Forster occupied the chair. The report and statement of accounts were adopted. The following officers were elected :—Patron, Mr. R. Gooch ; president, the Rev. Father Brodie; vice-presidents, Mrs. rilling, Messrs. W. If. Wynyard. S. Paul, F. Robinson, Morris, Crimmins, and Peter Brady; secretary and treasurer, Mr. Sum. Manna; delegates to the Rugby Union, Messrs. Frank Forster and J. Atkinson. It was arranged to visit Waikino and play a practice match on April 13. LAWN" TENNIS. TOURNAMENT AT OTAHUHU. On Easier Monday a progressive tennis tournament, was held on the tennis courts at. Otahuhu and proved most exciting, the winner in the ladies' section being Miss Frearson, while Mr. W. Bond was best, in the men's division. The president of the club (Mr. Hall) at the conclusion of the play presented suitable trophies to the winners. ATHLETICS. CAPTAIN COOK SPORTS. There was another large attendance at. the Captain Cook grounds last evening to witness a 50yds nursery handicap, organised by the Captain Cook Proprietary Company. The handicaps were all that could" be desired Md some of the heats were very interesting. The nominations totalled 126 and out of these 120 accepted. The liual heat was won by R.
