SECOND GRADE.
GRAFTON V. NORTH SHORE. Considerable interest was taken in this match, partly owing to the fact that the Grafton team holds an unbeaten record this season and that the Shore come next. Both teams had strong elevens in tho field, and a perfect wicket was provided. Grafton won the toss and elected to bat. W. H. Graham and C. Robinson opened for Grafton, and a very auspicious start was made, 100 runs boiug up for no wickets. The first wicket fell at. 102. C. Robinson being bowled for a well-played 38. A. Lawry came next, making 20 by nice cricket, the second wicket falling for 155 runs on the board. Graham was batting very vigorously, playing correct cricket. He eventually carried his bat for 107 (not out), batting right through the innings. The remaining batsmen were got rid of fairly cheaply, the innings closing for 222. Eden, first innings (Alexander, not out,, 98, F. Paul! 21. P. Hamilton 1*), 164. OTHER MATCHES. Grafton Road Public School v. Normal School: The last-mentioned team hatted first and made 40, the only double figure scorer being H. White (12). Elliott bowled well, taking seven wickets for 21. Grafton responded with 82 for the loss of four wickets. W. Horspool (33) and Brewin (28 not out) batted well. Grafton thus won by six wickets and 42 runs. Timber Workers v. Y.M.C.A.: Timber Workers won by 154 runs on the first innings. Y.M.C.A. batted first, and compiled 46. Timber Workers made 200, Christianson (63 not out). Mercies (50), Daly (28). Arnold (16) being chief scorers. Bowling for Timber Workers Christianson got six wickets for 16 runs, Rees two for none. Y.M.C.A. v.
