Oh the evening of New Year's Day the l'acnic Cable staff gave a ball at the "Quarters," Anson Hay. I'hilp, and Co.'s island Mail line, arrived from Sydney on the morning of the 7th I in-t., bound to the Islands, and having on I board a number 'if repatriated kanakas for distribution in the New Hebrides. The steamer brought six passengers for the island. and resumed tier voyage early next , morning.
