MEETINGS.
LOYAL PARNELL LODGE.
The annual meeting of the Loyal Parnell Lodge of Oddfellows, M.U., was held. on Thursday, there being a good attendance. The balance-sheet showed that the. receipts for the sick and funeral benefit fund amounted to £673 during the year, including £176 derived as interest on investments. Tin/ sickness experienced for the 12 months totalled 470 weeks, for which the lodge paid out to members the sum of £324. Three members died during the year, also the wife of a member, and the total funeral benefits paid amounted to £87. A net gain of £243 has swelled this fund's assets to £4003. The management and medical expenses fund was also reported to bo in a sound and healthy condition, its present worth being £129. During the year a sum of £152 was paid) away for doctors' services and medicine. The lodge's superannuation fund increased to £481, and the total worth of the surplus fund at the end of the year, after paying additional funeral benefit' of £41, was £1161. The total assets were set down at £6181. During the evening Brother D. G. Cameron was installed into the office of Noble Grand, and Brother T. .1. Foster in that of ViceGrand. The N.G. appointed Brothers R. H. Killip and (1. V. Aimer as his supporters, and Brother E. 0. Beesloy as inside guardian: while the Vice-Grand appointed Brothers R. Stevenson and it. Green as his supporters. The election of trustees resulted in tho re-election of Brother F. G. Fowler, P.G. IP.P.D.G.M. Geo. F. Fowler was reelected as treasurer; while the retiring secretary was unanimously re-elected as P.S., special reference being made to show the lodge's appreciation of his services during the. oast year. A management committee, consisting of Brothers P.P.G.M. Thomas. Past Grands C. D. Cowan and P. H. Holliiijjswbrth, acting in conjunction with the lodge officers, was approved and elected. P.G.'s Cowan and Hollingsworth were reelected lodge auditors: while the election of three deputies to represent the lodge at the next district meeting resulted as follows: — P.P.G.M. Thomas, P.G. E. W. Twiname, and P.G. W. Purry.
INDEPENDENT ORDER OF ODD FELLOWS.
The annual meeting of the Auckland District. National Independent Order of Oddfellows was held in the Masonic Hall, Karangahape Road, last Friday evening, Provincial Grand Master Brother J. T. R. ! Dines presiding. Notwithstanding the heavy claims, the society had improved both financially and in membership, the funds showing a total of £4917 14s. The election of officers resulted as follows: — Brother Stephen 1'". Moulden, Provincial Grand Master: Brother J. O'Dwyer, Deputy-Grand Master: Brother lly. Phillips, secretary (re-elected): Brother William McDowell, treasurer; Brother Chappell, guardian; Brother J. T. B. Dines, trustee; Brothers Young, Wrigley. and 1 Armstrong, auditors. The Executive Committee were instructed to obtain a suitable present for the retiring P.G.M., Brother Dines, in appreciation of his services during the past year.
