RECORD BUTTER EXPORTS FROM
TARANAKI

New Plymouth, Saturday. The. Corinna, loading on Monday, takes 13,521 boxes of butter and 3643 cases cheese from New Plymouth, valued approximately at £50,000. This brings the total exports from here this month, including the amount still in store, to £126,088. Altogether, for the month, 44,606 boxes of butter have been shipped, and 4500 remain in the cold store. The increase in value of the January exports, compared with last year, represents £36,017 in butter and £7748 in cheese. Including the shipments from the Patea grading works, the total value of the butter and cheese sent from Taranaki this month is estimated to reach £182,088. An all round shrinkage in volume is nowreported, but the output is still well ahead of any previous year.
EXPANSION IN THE WAIKATO. [BY telegraph.—own CORRESPONDENT.] Cambridge, Saturday. Up to the present time the season has been favourable for the dairying industry, and the Cambridge Co-operative Dairy Company is likely to put up a record this season. " For the month of December oo tons of butter were manufactured, and £4300 paid out to suppliers. In the corresponding month of 1902, ouly £833 was distributed.
