Wellington, Friday. At (lie Magistrate's Court, to-day the manager of a large city grocery establishment was fined £1 and eo.-ts for selling adulterated milk. Tin' circumstances were that the Health Department l.ad examined a sample of condensed milk bought from defendant. Th" brand on the tin- set out. that the con tents were condensed from the '"purest milk." Tin' Department wished to cnsuie that, this condensed milk should not he sold, or, if it were, that, it should he placed before the public a* milk condensed from skim-milk. The defendant explained that he never suspected that there nn- anything wrong with the milk. On hearing the result, of the Department's analysis lie shipped large supplies of the milk hack to the maimfacturer.;.
