Giseohne, Saturday. News was received to-day that tho Government have definitely decided to take the To Aral station for close settlement purposes. For some time past the necessity for further lands being secured in this district has been impressed upon tho Government, and negotiations havu been in progress for several months with tho owner of the Te Arai Estate, tho Hon. Randall Johnson, who. recently camo out from England in consequence of tho overtures made by the Government for the purchase of his property. Tho Te Arai property is an ideal estate for subdivision. It comprises 10,750 acres of lino pastoral and agricultural country. A leading rang© runs through the centre of the block, enabling the property to bo :onveniently cut. up into areas of from 250 to 300 acres, and giving to each farm just the requisite proportion of hill and 'flat. Tho largo sheep station will bo subdivided into at least 40 farms. [UY TELEGRAPH. — PRESS ASSOCIATION". ] « NELSON*, Saturday. Advice has been received that the 'Government has purchased John Tinlino's Wangapoka run of 4480 acres for closer settlement. The. price locally has not transpired, but is supposed to be between £15.000 and £20,"000. The land adjoins and gridirons a largo area of Crown land, so the whole will be cut up advantageously for settlement*
