The officials connected with the Canadian court have arranged, for the despatch next season of regular shipments of apples to the four chief New Zealand ports. They have also decided to procure another motor, car of similar pattern to that on view in the Dominion courtlat : the Exhibition, and this will be at the disposal of those interested for the purpose of practical tests over different parts of the Canterbury country..''
Mr. E. Nicholls, Victorian .Commissioner, is forwarding to the trustees of the Melbourne Art Gallery a list of 24 of the finest- unsold pictures in the Exhibition Art .Gallery, the object of inducing them to make a selection from the notable works available for purchase.
The large trout which was taken from the Styx last June by a" ranger of the Acclimatisation Society, and has since adorned one of the ponds, has been successfully transferred in a washing tub to the Exhibition aquarium. It turns the scale at 181b. .. , -..■ .■■'*:- ,-,;, . ,
The Mayor (Sir John Hall), who had been affording some 4000 city and suburban school children the pleasure of a day in the Exhibition and Wonderland, has received many interesting letters from Christchuroh children. His health will not. allow him to reply to the letters, but he states that they have given him much pleasure. r " - • '

. Some new eases have been erected' in the home industries section. They arc being filled with a display of coins.postcards, and jewellery.'
In our advertising columns will be.found the announcement of a grand masked carnival, which is to be held at tlie Exhibition Wonderland "on the evening of Wednesday, the 19th inst. .The function will he a fancy and evening dress gathering, and all present will be provided with" masks,: free of charge, by the proprietors of "Wonderland." "Special lighting effects will be introduced, ■ and a feature of the programme,' will be a - grand march and ballet 'on a specially : constructed platform by 25 children attired in" dresses illustrative of fairy and nursery stories. The sum of 25 guineas is to be given in prizes for the best ladies', gentlemen's, and children's dresses, to be judged -by a committee of citizens. The grounds will lend themselves admirably to the display, which, promises to be a very interesting one.
