GREY MOUTH HARBOUR WORKS STOPPED.
GOVERNMENT REFUSES TO PAY
ROYALTIES
[BY TKLECRAPff. — PRESS ASSOCIATION*.]
Guktmodth, Tuesday. At a special meeting of the Harbour Board, held to-day, it' was decided to stop all work in connection with the harbour works, owing to insufficient revenue, due to the Government refusing to pay to the Board rents and royalties from the Slate coal mine. The action of the Board throws a large number of men out of work, and stops most liigent and necessary works. In view* of the fact that the port is taxed to its utmost at the present time, the decision of the Board is a most serious one.
