FATAL FIRE AT MASTERTON.

MAX IJURNED TO DEATH. [BY TELEGRAPH. — PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Mastehto.v, Thursday. SHORTLY after midnight a. fire was discovered in a. boardinghouse in Queen-street, owned by the Lands Trust, and occupied by Mrs. Watson. One of the inmates was burned to death, and two others were seriously injured. The victim is not yet identified, but he is believed to be Mr. John Luff, who came to-the district from Oamaru recently. Tho building was insured for £375, and the furniture for £200, both in the Northern Office.
