[BY TELEGRAPH.PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Fktlding, Wednesday. At the Police Court this morning August Edward Basse, of Taonui, charged with incest, was remanded for a week, bail being refused. The following county chairmen have been elected in this district: —Oroua, Mr. Wheeler; Kiwi tea, Mr. Carman; Manawatu, Mr. Wilson. Hokitika, Wednesday Mr, T. V. Byrne has been elected chairman of the West land County Council. [by TELEGRAPH. own correspondent.] Hamilton, Wednesday. At the meeting of the Waipa County Council, Mr. J. Fisher was elected chairman, and Messrs. A. Bell and J. Fisher representatives on the Hospital Board. At the meeting of the Waikato County Council Mr. J. Gordon was elected chairman, and Messrs. A. Primrose and J. Bailey representatives on the Hospital Board. Mr. B. Hewitt has been elected chairman of the Raglan County Council, and Messrs. Bankart and Guirk representatives on the Hospital Board.
