MOTORS AND MOTORING.
Motoring is gaining greatly in popularity in the Auckland province, and hardly a week passes without new cars being ordered. Touring is becoming the rule, and each week end is made the medium for a pleasant excursion, while some fine drives are also indulged in on moonlight nights. The Auckland Automobile Association are pushing ahead with the arrangements for their reliability trial from Auckland to Wel- I lington next month, and all known motorists j throughout the North and South Islands are being circularised. Entries do not close till the middle of next month, but already a number of local and country motorists have given notice that they will take part. It is believed several cars will compete from the Napier, Wainirapa, and Featherston districts. Apart from the trial, for which a handsome cup and medals are offered, the outing should prove highly interesting from a touring point of view* and : for this reason, if no other, good entries should lie received. Mr. W. Macklow, of Auckland, has purchased a 10 : horse power Cadillac car, and Mr. W. Hume, of Wellington, a 30-horse power car of the same make.
