THE LAND BOYCOTT. ANGRY IRISH MEMBERS. "IT'S A LIE." By Telegraph.-Press Association-Copyright. (Received November 2, 10.34 p.m.) London, November 2. In the House of Commons yesterday there was a stormy scene over a motion by Viscount Castlereagh that the Trades Disputes Bill should not apply to Ireland. This was negatived by 239 to 4. Mr. S. H. Butcher said the Bill would facilitate boycotting and intimidation in Ireland, and '-when under the Land League's baneful tyranny the living were refused the necessaries of life and the dead were denied coffins.'' Mr. W. Delaney : It's a slander. Mr. Flynn : It's a lie. The interjections were withdrawn under the Speaker's direction. THE SHIPPING BILL. CONTROL OF SHIPS' OFFICERS. (Received November 2, 10.34 p.m.) London, November 2. The President of the Board of Trade (Mr. Lloyd George) intends to propose an amendment in the Shipping Bill to give the Board of Trade full powers over marine superintendents and shipping officers, and thus to be enabled to enforce the regulations under the Bill. The shipping members threaten to strenuously oppose the amendment.
