YOUNG MAN DROWNED.

[in TELEGRAPH.— PRESS ASSOCIATION.] llokitika, Friday. News has been received by the steamer Jane Doughs from Okuia to-day of a fatal accident at the junction of the Haast and Burke's Rivers, South Westland, on October 22, George Adams being drowned while attempting to cross when the rivers were in Hood. The body had not been found on October 30. Deceased was a native of Duuedin, about 24 years of age. He bad been in the district two years, engaged in prospecting.
