THE BLENHEIM BOATING DISASTER .
FUNERAL OF THE VICTIMS. [BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION. } ■" . Blenheim," Wednesday.' The funeral of eight of those drowned in the Ma.ritana . launch disaster on Sunday, took place this afternoon, between 3000 and 4000 people, taking part. The cortege included over 150 vehicles, and was half-il-mile long. The Marlborough Mounted Rifles, the school cadets,- and the Garrison Band were in attendance.; The procession left the Market Place at three o'clock. ? Tlie band'played " Garland of Flowers" and the "Dead March" in "Saul." Edward Nash was buried with military honours/in the Roman Catholic cemetery, ■ vollevß being fired over the grave, and* the ." list post," sounded. The funeral service was conducted in the presence, of the largest gathering ever seen at a funeral in' Marlborough. The ofliciating clergymen were the Rev. Father Fay (Roman Catholic), Archdeacon,; Grace (Anglican), the Revs. Robb (Presbyterian) and Penney (Weskyan). The last three delivered impressive addresses at the graveside. The colHns were covered with wreaths, including one from Mr. /Mills, the member for the district.- f-
