Mr. Edward Nicholls, of Melbourne, one of the Victorian Commissioners to the New Zealand Exhibition, arrived in Wellington to-day from Sydney. 'He says a fine display will be ' made ?by ■ the State which he represents. The Victorian Court .will contain 6000 ft of space, and will enable an effective snowing; to be made of- specimens of local products, such "as minerals, olive oil, foodstuffs, wines from Hans Irvine and Co.'s vineyard, tobacco, Mildura dried fruits. The obelisk which is to be erected to show 'the quantity of gold won in Victoria up to 1905 will be a feature of the court. , .' . . -, r *; . A' ( large. lump of coal, weighing several tons,' has just been dragged by two traction engines from the Nightcaps mine, Southland, to the railway .station. The lump is to be sent on to the Christchurch Exhibition ,at an early date. Several. smaller pieces 'will also be sent on, and these will-be placed on the first so as to form a pyramid, the whole" being surrounded by crockery made : from Nightcaps clay.
