The social democrat newspaper the Clarion, upraids Mr. Keii Hardie , for his anti-militarism, and publishes an article strongly in favour of the creating of a citizen army. (Received September 30, 5.20 p.m.) London, September 29. , \ The newspaper Clarion, while , warmly praising Mr. Kcir Hardie for , nailing the socialistic colours to the mast, denounces his attacks on Mr. Haldane for his universal military training scheme, and remarks that a strong citizen army able to shoot is the only defence against l ambitious and tyrannous Tsars and Kaisers. . The Times commends the views of Australian Labour leaders, which go in a similar direction in regard to defence. :,<■>' Mr. Hardie in a speech tho other day said that labour must unflinchingly oppose Mr. Haldane's scheme to induce the youth of tho nation to become volunteers, because that was ah insidious form of conscription.
