The vote of the Bishop of Waiapu killed a proposal made at the Synod to allow women to vote at parish meetings, although there was a majority of eight in favour of the motion. Mastekton, Saturday. Some time ago the Wairarapa Age agitated for making Mount Holdsworth,. near Alasterton, a tourist resort. Tho Borough Council have now decided to ask the Tourist Department to send a man to report on the proposed track to the mountain and grant , a sum of money towards carrying out the work. .
