A THAMES CASE.
[BY telegraph.—own correspondent.] ', ' Thames, Tuesday. At the Magistrate's Court to-day Robert Glasgow and James Miller were charged with insulting and disorderly behaviour, and refusing to quit the premises of the Royal Oak Hotel, Tapu, when requested to do so on the evening of Saturday, September. 8, and in the case of Miller, with also using obscene language on the same occasion. Mr. Clendon appeared for the defendants, who pleaded not guilty. Evidence for the prosecution was given by Mrs. Eastwood, wife of the licensee, Mr. Eastwood, and several other witnesses. The evidence for the defence was to the effect that both the defendants were in a state of intoxication, and did not know what they were doing. ' Judgment was reserved until the 28th.inst.
