The* Waihi Hack Racing Club have decided to hold, their next meeting on December 1 at, Paeroa. A programme of seven events was drawn, up,, with stakes totalling £92. It was decided to alter the usual programme, a Hack Hurdle Race being substituted for tho Pony Race, and a Borough Handicap (open) instead of the Members' Plate. Messrs. Carter, Colebrook, and Delaney wore appointed a committee to confer with- the Waihi Jockey Club's committee. regarding improvements to the local course. - AUCKLAND TROTTING CLUB. ■ There was a good attendance at the .annual meeting of the Auckland Trotting Club, held at the,' office of the secretary (Mr. Mark) yesterday. The president (Mr. .1. Rowe) occupied the chair. The annual report stated that increased interest was being taken in the spoil. The club's assets totalled £1190 and the liabilities £12 15s. There was an, actual earlrbalance of £921) 15s lOd, while 111*3.1 other assets had been so written down that their value to the club was much more than was represented in the balance-sheet. Dining the season the club gave away practically £3000. in Stakes, and the net totalisator revenue 'amounted to. £1455. The club was in the. rather unique position of giving more than double the amount of stakes required by lie racing laws, and there was still a profit, of £116 on the working account. There had been "nio. serious breaches of the, rules to deal with during the year, and the committee thought that this was in a great measure due to the thorough manner in which the stewards had dealt with all cases. The report and balance-sheet were unanimously adopted. The Chairman gave a resume of the progress of the club during the past 16 years. Since the club's inception £33.253 had been given in stakes. He expressed pleasure at the number of fanners who were now taking an interest in and trying to breed' good trotters, and a still more pleasing feature, was that in the Waikato, which should he a natural source of supply, quite a number of people were putting their mares to trotting stallions instead of to gallopers. The trotting horse, if he never " went, on a track in his life, would give his owner or rider pleasure on the. roads. Complimentary reference was made to the work of the stewards for the past year, and a vote of thanks was unanimously accorded to them for the manner in which they had carried out their duties. Votes of thanks were also accorded to the Auckland press, to the late chairman (Mr. Harris) and the present chairman for their services, and the secretary, whose services were highly spoken of. Mr. Hill, the judge, and the other officials were accorded a vote of thanks. The retiring members of committee—Messrs. A. R. Harris, James Hill, G. Tapsley, A. Coates, and S. C. Caulton—r-were re-elected. Stewards were appointed as follows :—Messrs. Lindsay Cooke, J. Morrison, .T. G. Rutherford, A. Hughes, John McColl. F. Wells, R. P. Kinloch, T. Crawford, Geo. Foster, and T. Grey. TAHUNA PARK TROTTING CLUB. . [BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN' CORRESPONDENT.] DrxEDix, Monday. Speaking at the annual meeting of the Tahuna Park Trotting Club to-day the president (Mr. Myers) mentioned that the club intended to give away £1000 in stokes at the spring meeting. The chairman remarked that the New Zealand Trotting Association was becoming a wealthy body, and he thought it should endow races at the four centres.
