The total number of immigrants who arrived in Canada during the financial year just ended was 175,000, a record, and 20 per cent, in excess of the number of the previous year. For the year ended December, 1904, the immigrants that arrived in Canada number«d .154,223,-of. whom 55,913 wero British; 55,392 from the Continent, and 42,918 from the United States.
